ALM Photo Story 4 Step How-to Guide
Summary:
Overview
Photo stories will allow you to create slideshows using your digital photos. With a single click, you can touch-up, crop, or rotate pictures, add special effects, soundtracks, and your own voice narration to your photo stories. Then, you can personalize them with titles and captions. Small file sizes make it easy to send your photo stories in an e-mail. You can share them on the ALM and watch them on a computer.
The Adaptation Learning Mechanism (ALM) supports learning on climate change adaptation through good practice and experience by promoting knowledge exchange and collaboration between practitioners. In specific, the ALM would like to assist you at the global level in enhancing cooperation among member countries to promote innovation in adaptation to climate change.
To do this we are proposing an ALM conducted initiative that will assist participating countries to develop visual material. We would like to help you create a photo story for one of your projects. The attached guide will introduce you to Photo Story 3 for Windows and take you through a step-by-step process of creating a photo story. Beginning with importing and arranging your pictures, adding titles to the pictures, and narrating the pictures, it is our intention that a photo story will help highlight your project accomplishments.
End Product
A Photo Story that uses ~10-15 photos includes narration and music, with 2-3 minute duration. The Photo Story program is simple and user-friendly. Photo Stories are a tool with great potential to stimulate local innovation processes and allows people in the field to monitor their projects in an interesting way (from conception, to implementation, to monitoring and evaluation). The process of creating a photo story can serve as a basis for reflection and offers an opportunity for the creative exchange of ideas. It stimulates community members to "visualise" what they are currently doing and to consider jointly how they can do things better. This process can strengthen links between community members and help them develop consensus.
