DESCRIPTION:

UNDP Bratislava Regional Centre is hosting a workshop on socio-economic assessment of climate change impacts as a way to inform UNDP staff as well as clients on the value of economic assessments for decision-making related to adapting to climate change.

In particular, the workshop will cover:
• Different approaches and methodologies for socio-economic assessments of climate change impacts.
• Training that will focus on preparing think-tanks and experts from countries in Europe and CIS region for carrying out country-level and regional cost assessments of climate change impacts and cost-benefit analysis of adaptation options.

The workshop is also aimed at raising awareness and demystify what conducting an economic analysis entails and how one should go about it in way that is practical and applied.

For additional information about the workshop’s content, background information, and the presenters, please see the Agenda (ENG), Agenda (RUS), the Concept Note and the Biography of Presenters.
