USAID is proud to announce the release of its new Climate Change and Development Strategy for 2012-2016. The Strategy provides a strategic framework for USAID to address the challenges and opportunities associated with climate change and outlines the Agency’s goals, strategic objectives, and guiding principles for climate change programming. The Strategy also lays out a road map for implementation, recognizing the need to develop more detailed plans for research, monitoring, training, learning, and outreach. The goal of USAID’s Climate and Development Strategy is to enable countries to accelerate their transition to climate resilient, low emissions development to promote sustainable economic growth.
