Lessons learned

The sharing of experiences and lessons learned through adaptation is a key role of the ALM. Lessons learned will offer practical, comparative experiences in adaptation, including sector or region-specific lessons, as well as more universal ones related to overcoming barriers when developing and implementing adaptation initiatives. Also addressed will be failures, challenges, and other elements of hindsight, all of which are important aspects of learning.

Submit experiences

A template (Word .doc file) for submitting experiences provides a structured but flexible format for capturing lessons of high learning value from a range of adaptation efforts. DOWNLOAD EXPERIENCE TEMPLATE >

Completed templates can be submitted by email. Comments on the format of the templates are also encouraged and appreciated.

Participate in a comparative review of lessons learned

As the ALM project evolves, templates can be developed for in-depth evaluation and comparative reviews of lessons learned, with questions tailored to the specific initiative or initiative type under review. Individual, in-depth lessons learned can then be compared and synthesized.
