Summary:

Wageningen-UR (Alterra and the Centre for Development Innovation) composed this training manual based on the training material developed for the first training on ‘Climate Change in Agriculture and Natural Resources Management’ held in Addis Abeba, Ethiopia from 15-26 June 2009. The Training was organised in cooperation with the Horn of Africa Regional Environment Centre and Network (HoA-REC/N), the International Union for the Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources (IUCN), the Regional Universities Forum for Capacity Building in Agriculture (RUFORUM) and the Association for Strengthening Agricultural Research in Eastern and Central Africa (ASARECA).

The training helps the participants to understand better the potential impact of future climate change including the increased variability and uncertainty and to combine this knowledge with the planned and on-going activities at national, regional and local scale in view of sustainable development.

The Manual is developed for future trainers providing them a training set-up and guidance for implementation. We welcome feedback from other users, university lecturers or course developers.

This publication is available here. Training material will also be available on a CD-rom on request.
