Summary

In order to assess potential impacts of climate change and hence develop appropriate adaptation strategies, reliable estimates of likely changes in future climate are necessary. Information about how critical parameters can be expected to change in the long-term is used by researchers and practitioners from a broad array of disciplines for analysis and decision-making.

The Challenge

Integrating climate change risks and opportunities into development decision-making is a key challenge for adaptation, particularly in the countries most exposed and vulnerable to the negative impacts of climate change.

The Response

CC DARE provides demand driven financial and technical support to sub-Saharan Africa that is targeted, flexible and rapid. The support is made available to assist countries to remove barriers for the integration of climate change adaptation into development planning and decision-making frameworks.
