Summary:

There are different climate change-related challenges that the agricultural sector in developing countries will face and various opportunities for emission reductions and adaptation. Adaptation measures in the agriculture sector are highly significant for poverty reduction, agriculture in developing countries can play a significant role in mitigating greenhouse gases and it is critical to work out incentives that are conducive to emission reductions in this sector. Therefore sustainable management of natural resources is key to both mitigation of emissions and adaptation in the agricultural sector.
