    Summary:

    The project involves the provision of 42kW solar power generation system connected to the existing diesel power supply grid. The project's aims to: 1. Promote the use of renewable energy (RE) options in Small Island Developing States (SIDS); 2. Provide momentum in Tuvalu for the shift from full reliance on diesel-based power generation to renewable energy sources; 3. Transfer technological expertise in solar photovoltaic power generation to counterparts in the Pacific region and SIDS at large; 4. Provide a pilot model of grid-connected solar power generation in the Pacific region; 5. Reduce both CO₂ emissions and fossil fuel consumption; 6. Send a symbolic message about the importance of global and concerted action for the promotion of sustainable energy development and the fight against climate change.
