The project mainly aims to build capacity of communities and local organisations to prevent, prepare for and respond to disaster, within Vanuatu's NAP.
Other objectives include:
- To build community capacity to prevent and withstand the potential effects of disaster particularly in the provinces of Torba, Sanma, Penama and Tafea.
- To strengthen community preparedness for disaster in high risk areas, particularly in the provinces of Torba, Sanma, Penama and Tafea.
- To build the capacity of local organisations to prepare for and respond to disaster, particularly in remote areas of the provinces of Torba, Sanma, Penama and Tafea.
