United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP)
Description:

The Portraits of Resilience project visited the community of Uummannaq, Greenland in 2009 and several communities in Fiji in late 2010. Portraits of Resilience trains children in the Arctic and SIDS in the use of photography and other digital media.  It brings the faces and perspectives of these young people to the attention of the public and to decision-makers at international climate change negotiations and other venues. Portraits of Resilience is part of the Many Strong Voices programme, and is led by two professional photographers with extensive experience documenting human/environment interactions. MSV brings together people in the Arctic and SIDS to pressure world governments to reduce GHG emissions in order to give them time to adapt to changes already underway.
