Body:
In Yemen, UNDP worked with local people and the Government in planning for the rehabilitation of a valuable and fragile ecosystem, the Aden Wetlands. Along with promoting new environmental legislation as well as awareness of the Wetlands importance in Yemens economy and environment, the project focused on sustainable livelihoods for the people who live there. For example, the project revived indigenous practices such as soap, vinegar and seed button production.
